VFF President receives Thai Economic Social Commission
HaNoi- President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front (VFF) Pham The Duyet received Chairman of Thai Economic-Social Commission Gothom Arya in Ha Noi yesterday.
Chairman Gothom Arya said Thailand was eager to have socail organisations at the forefront of his country's social development.
According to the Thai guest, the ASEAN economic social advisory council, which is the commission's initiative, will furnish advice to ASEAN ministrial meeting as well as summits regarding economic-social development policy. The council will also facilitate the implementation of the ASEAN charter and the promotion of ASEAN values.
President Pham The Duyet spoke highly of the Thai commission's initiative, which helps enhance mutual understanding and cultural exchanges among ASEAN member countries.
The meeting provided a good chance for both guest and host to share experiences and initiatives for a more co-operative and developing ASEAN, said the VFF president.-VNS.

Thai official discusses regional council with Deputy PM Nhan
HaNoi-
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan has said he expects the education, tourism and investment co-operation between Viet Nam and Thailand to expand.
The deputy PM made the statement at his meeting with chairman of the Thai Economic-Social Commision Gothom Arya in Ha Noi on September 11.
Nhan lauded the co-operation between the Thai Economic-Social Commission and the Viet Nam Fatherland Front as well as the establishment of the Economic-Social Advisory Council within the ASEAN.
The Thai official said he was impressed with the operation of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, the mass organisation that he was working with during the visit.
He also discussed with the Vietnamese leader a number of issues of mutual interests.-VNS.
